Engagement Expectations at Dogtaggs
My programmes and workshops are designed to create an engaging, educational, and collaborative environment for everyone involved. They are built on over 40 years of experience and careful planning to ensure participants can bond with their dogs, develop new skills, and feel supported in their journey.
Pre-Booking Participation Acknowledgment
Before confirming your booking, please ensure you read the following:
1. Attendance
I understand that only the registered handler may participate, and only the dog(s) formally booked may attend sessions.
Additional dogs, including dogs belonging to the same handler, are not permitted on site. Observers, support persons, family members, and additional dogs are not permitted on site.
2. Working environment
I understand that the booked programme or workshop takes place on a working farm and in real outdoor environments. Livestock, terrain, weather, and other dogs may be present. Clear, direct instruction may be given at any time in relation to safety, movement, or positioning, and I agree to follow this guidance promptly.
3. Livestock handling (where applicable)
I understand that, where relevant to the training and learning objectives, optional opportunities involving livestock may be offered. These are intended as fine-tuned educational experiences that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Participation in any livestock-related activity is entirely voluntary. I understand that:
- no participant is required to handle livestock
- I may opt out at any point, or choose not to take part at all
- all livestock activity is an adjunct to dog-focused work
- all participation must follow health and safety guidance given on site.
4. Structure and commitment
I understand that for any programmes they are booked as complete programmes. Instalment payments are a payment method only and do not alter the commitment to the full programme, the structure of delivery, or the cancellation terms.
5. Personal responsibility
I confirm that I am able to participate safely, responsibly, and consistently, and that I do not have medical, mobility, behavioural, or other constraints that would prevent me from engaging with the booked programme or workshop as described.
6. Nature of the work
I understand that these are structured learning experiences, not therapy or emotional support. The work depends on my own self-regulation, attention, and willingness to engage with the process. Outcomes depend on participation, not instruction alone.
By confirming my booking, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to these conditions.
Why This Matters
Our programmes work best when handlers are clear, present, and fully responsible for themselves and their dogs. Dogs respond voluntarily and accurately when the handler creates coherent, legible tasks. This acknowledgment ensures the experience remains safe, structured, and rewarding for both dogs and handlers.
If you have any questions about the above, or about your booking, please email hello@dogtaggs.co.uk
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,
Pat Tagg
